Belly Dance with Marjan
Belly Dance 101Learn the basics of this Middle Eastern dance form with some modern and upbeat twists. Marjan’s integrative style of teaching will have you moving gracefully while you strengthen core muscles, develop poise and have fun. No dance experience is required, but be ready for a good workout as you shimmy, isolate and undulate!Schedule: Thursdays, 6:15-7:15 PM Classes will meet weekly August 12-October 14, 2010. Enrollment: (please register below) Registration Fee: $15.00 (waived if pre-paid for entire session by August 6, 2010) Session Enrollment (10 weeks): $100.00 Minimum Enrollment: 5 Students starting in the third or fourth week should plan to attend a private session in order to learn the skills they missed in the first weeks. Students wishing to join after the fourth week may wait for the next Belly Dance 101 class to begin or take private lessons. Belly Dance 102Now that you have the basics, it’s time to spice things up! In this class, you will begin to add layers to the basics, exercise memory with extended and mixed combo drills, learn how to dance with a veil, play finger cymbals (zills), and learn choreography.Prerequisite: - Completion of Belly Dance 101 with Marjan (no more than 4 absences); or - Audition to demonstrate knowledge and beginner-level execution of the basics of Belly Dancing Schedule: Tuesdays, 6:30-7:30 PM (full) Tuesdays, 7:45-8:45 PM (starting July 13, 2010) These are ongoing classes. If you fulfill the pre-requisite, you may join at any time. Enrollment: (please register below) Continuing Students: $100 (10-weeks, pre-paid by July 13, 2010) New Students: $100 (10-weeks), plus $15 Registration Fee Minimum Enrollment: 5 Belly Dance 102/ChoreographyThis is a supplemental class for students who are taking Belly Dance 102 with Marjan and want more time to focus on choreography and technique.Schedule: Thursdays, 7:30-8:30 PM (starting August 12, 2010) This is an ongoing class. Belly Dance 102 students are eligible to take the class once they are ready to learn more advanced choreography.
