Jaime Jones (Piano, Composition)

Jaime Jones, an Oklahoma native (Sulphur), received her Bachelor of Music with piano concentration at East Central University in Ada. There, she studied under Dr. Dennis Boe, Dr. Starla Hibler, and prominent composer W.T. Skye Garcia. She is currently pursuing her Master's degree in piano pedagogy at the University of Oklahoma under Dr. Jane Magrath, Dr. Barbara Fast, and Dr Jeongwon Ham. With prior study in flute and voice and an avid interest in violin, Jaime takes into consideration the knowledge gained through piano and how it can augment the musicality of those that are primarily dedicated to other instruments.

In 2007, Jaime received the Lynn Freeman Olson Composition Award in the advanced category for her early intermediate piano solo, Camel Ride. Hal Leonard then picked the piece for publication in the summer of 2008. Actively composing additional educational piano literature, she enjoys the challenge of incorporating necessary progressive elements while keeping the pieces entertaining and rewarding.
