Mark Giammario (Drums, Percussion)
Mark Giammario is a drummer/percussionist with many years of professional experience performing, teaching, writing and arranging music. Mark earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Oklahoma (OU) and a Masters degree from the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO). Mark studied orchestral percussion and music at the University of Miami, and Afro-Cuban/Puerto Rican music at the Boys Harbor of Performing Arts in East Harlem, NY. His extensive performance experience has given him the opportunity to play in a wide genre of styles, including jazz, rock, blues, R&B, classical, country western, Latin, Caribbean, swing and big band, Greek, Russian, Irish and Italian. He actively works in the Oklahoma City area, including leading his own group. This year, Mark was a faculty member and performer at the Quartz Mountain Music Festival Jazz Academy, and the UCO Jazz Lab Summer Jazz Workshop. Mark continues to accompany modern dance classes at the OU School of Dance.
